Getting To Hood River from Portland International Airport

Hood River is about 60 miles from Portland International Airport and accessible by shuttle, bus, or car via I-84. Transportation by train is also available.

 

Columbia Area Transit (CAT)
The Columbia Gorge Express Eastbound Route transports riders from Portland to Cascade Locks and Hood River. Get a GOrge Pass for unlimited rides on all CAT fixed-route services including the Columbia Gorge Express to Portland and the Gorge to Mountain ski bus.

Greyhound Bus
Book services from Portland to Hood River and The Dalles. Note: the bus does not allow bikes.

Amtrak
The Empire Builder service transports from Portland’s Union Station to Bingen, WA. From Bingen, you can call the Hood River Taxi.

Lyft
Rides are available one way only from Portland to Hood River.

Uber
Rides are available one way only from Portland Hood River.

Hood River Taxi
The Hood River Taxi allows pre-scheduled rides to and from Portland Airport.

Biking
WARNING – Due to the Eagle Creek Fire of 2017, the Historic Columbia River Highway is closed for a major section of this bike route, Bridal Veil to Cascade Locks. The only alternative is biking on the Interstate. From Cascade Locks to view up-to-date closures.
