Visit Hood River Announces First Friday in August

(HOOD RIVER, Ore.) – Visit Hood River (VHR) has announced the 2023 Summer First Friday series will continue on August 4th, to be held on Oak Street, downtown Hood River.

Visit Hood River will hold August’s First Friday on August 4th from 5:00-8:00pm. The theme for August is “Hot August Nights” and will feature a car show, with classic and new cars lining downtown Hood River on Oak Street. There will be prizes awarded by the City, Visit Hood River, and also a Kid’s choice award.

There will be arts and craft vendors, live music, and businesses will keep their doors open late to welcome locals and visitors alike to enjoy the beauty of Hood River. “The first two events we had this summer were amazing and very well attended,” said Katie Kadlub, CEO of Visit Hood River. “We look forward to August’s car show and hope to make this an annual event each year.”

Oak Street between 1st and 6th Streets will be closed from 5:00pm-8:00 pm, with the closures beginning around 4:30pm for set up. Please be advised when parking downtown that day.
