CGOA Stages Auditions for Little Shop of Horrors

Hot on the heels of last spring’s sold-out performances of Rent, CGOA’s Stages Musical Theatre is gearing up for this season’s production of Little Shop of Horrors, one of the most popular Broadway musicals of all time.

Auditions for the May, 2023 performances are January 7 and 8 at 1 PM at the Bingen Theater, 210 Oak St in Bingen, WA. 

The production is being directed for CGOA by Joe Garoutte, with musical direction by Dan Kenealy, the team that headed Rent.

Those auditioning are requested to prepare no more than 2 minutes of a musical number, and to bring backing tracks on a thumb drive or phone. No original songs, and auditioners are asked to not accompany themselves. There will be cold readings from the script following the musical auditions both days.

Little Shop of Horrors premiered off-Broadway in 1982 and has been revived on Broadway many times, most recently in 2019, in a production that is currently running. The musical was inspired by low-budget science fiction film from 1960, and has music and lyrics by Howard Ashman and Alan Menken.For additional information, contact the director at Joe@garoutte.me.
