Tastebound – the FREE Mt. Hood and Columbia River Gorge Cookbook
The Tastebound cookbook, from Mt. Hood and Columbia River Gorge Tourism, is a culinary tour through Oregon’s Mt. Hood and Columbia River Gorge region. Tastebound includes 15 recipes from local chefs that highlight ingredients grown in our area, like cherries from the East Gorge, apples and pears in the Hood River Valley, and even Douglas firs from Mt. Hood.
This cookbook was created was to support and lift up our restaurant industry in wake of every hardship that has hit them since the pandemic started. Our hope is that each recipe, story, and local ingredient in the book inspires folks to learn more and to participate in and pay respect to the fruits of our lands.
Within the pages, readers can explore the geologic history of the region, learn about the Indigenous peoples who have lived, fished, and foraged the area since the beginning and journey along food trails, fruit loops, and tap trails in the region.
