From the profound romanticism of Tchaikovsky’s Romeo and Juliet, to Dvorak’s lyrical 8th Symphony to Prokofiev’s quirky and playful music for the movies, the Gorge Sinfonietta’s “Slavic Fantasy” concert has something for every music lover. Focused on composers from 19th century Russia and eastern Europe, the concert is heavy on melody, beauty and audience appeal. To encourage new audience members, CGOA is offering a special incentive at these Sinfonietta concerts. After Sunday’s performance there will be a drawing for “first timer” Sinfonietta attendees. We’ll be collecting entries from both of the weekend’s Sinfonietta performances. Celilo Restaurant & Bar has kindly donated a $50 certificate for the winner! Look for signage and the box to drop off your entry. Winners need not be present to win.
