The Roy Webster Cross-Channel Swim attracts hundreds of participants from around the world. The annual event, in its 78th year, is scheduled to return in September 2021. “Our priority is the health and safety of our entire community, as well as the many swimmers who were looking forward to this year’s event, so we have made the unfortunate but prudent decision to cancel the 2020 Cross-Channel Swim,” said Kate Schroeder, executive director of the Hood River County Chamber of Commerce. “The Roy Webster Cross-Channel Swim has been a long-time staple event in Hood River County and brings both local swimmers and travelers from all over the world. It will be greatly missed this year. We look forward to returning next year to host this special event for the 79th year in 2021.

The Chamber would like to thank all of the sponsors and participants for their continued support despite this unforeseeable cancelation. As a consolation for the canceled 2020 swim event, registered participants will be entitled to early access to the 2021 registration and the paid 2020 registration fee will be applied to 2021 registration fees.
