301 GALLERY ANNOUNCES FEBRUARY SUGAR SHOW

JANUARY 17, 2023: FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

SWEEEET, DUDE! 301 Gallery announces a celebration of February, a short but sweet month, with the 301 Sugar Show. A not-so-typical winter First Friday opening on February 3rd will feature three local Gorge food artists who will sample their creations for all guests from 3:30-7pm.

Dessert chefs providing samples for this event include:

Ingrid’s Cheesecakes is a home-based business specializing in custom-created cheesecakes. Ingrid has been creating cheesecakes for over 10 years and, in addition to a menu offering several customer favorites, her cakes are available in four sizes. Ingrid’s cheesecake art is created to complement the flavor of the cake as well as offer a lovely presentation fit for any occasion.

Édeske Patisserie (pronounced ‘Eh-desh-keh’ and translated from Hungarian meaning ‘sweet little thing’) is a high-end dessert boutique serving a collection of patisserie and chocolates not typically found in American dessert culture, featuring European influence and a modern twist made with local ingredients sourced right here in the Columbia River Gorge. Édeske pastry chefs are Tamara Bartucz Biscardi and husband James Biscardi.

Canyon Road Chocolates. Many locals know Merriann Bell from her former business, Rattlesnake Plants. Now Merriann is concentrating on mainly one plant: the cocoa bean! Canyon Road Chocolate is her small home-based business in Lyle where she produces small batch spooning chocolate with the highest quality ingredients. The product is used in traditional ways — over ice cream, spread between cake layers, with fruit — and it comes in various flavors besides classic chocolate including mint, raspberry, Mexican, hazelnut, and more.

The chefs will have certain items available to purchase at the gallery or guests may order direct from the chefs to celebrate and gift on Valentine’s Day. As for the rest the 16-artist member team at 301, come in and see what new work they cook up around this joyful and indulgent theme.
