Even on an e-bike, visitors can make a day exploring Hood River and the quaint surrounding towns and offerings, not to mention sampling some of the country’s best beer and wine. Enjoy the pedal assist as you navigate the winding trails and the incline of a historic highway as you ride your way to the top of Hood River’s breathtaking view points.

Guided Tours (seasonal)
Enjoy the pedal assist of an e-bike and the knowledge of a local guide with Hood River-based Sol Rides for their daily Twin Tunnels and Beyond guided rides. Bike the Mosier Twin Tunnels (complete with windows), which were blasted out of solid basalt to make way for the original Columbia River Highway, but are now part of a car-free section of the Historic Columbia River Highway State Trail. A Hood River gem, MountNBarrel provides tours on e-bike to many of the area’s favorite wineries, ride through orchards and see Hood River from a new angle on one of the many tours offered.

eMTB
Hood River’s local mountain bike trail advocacy group, the Hood River Area Trail Stewards (H-RATS), has worked hard to make the area’s trails inclusive of e-mountain bikes and to make users feel welcome on any of the Hood River County trails including the popular Post Canyon Trail system. The local Fat Tire Farm MTB shop rents full suspension eMTB bikes for just $150/day, making it a great way to explore the surrounding hills without the agony of all the climbing.

Scenic Rail Biking (seasonal)
In true Hood River fashion, the folks at Mt. Hood Railroad have created an experience that utilizes decommissioned railroad tracks as a way to gain a unique view of the breathtaking scenery. It’s just like riding a bike — except you don’t have to steer and are free to take pictures or simply admire the scenic views while pedaling. A handbrake makes for a safe stop whenever needed, and bikers have the option of engaging pedal assist if the grade is taxing or you’d simply like a break.
