Gorge Impact Film Festival

Columbia Center for the Arts Joins the 2nd Annual Gorge Impact Film Festival Nov. 8-10th

Columbia Center for the Arts is honored and thrilled to join Gorge Impact Film Festival this year as a venue and host for the festival on Nov. 9th and 10th in Hood River. The 2nd annual Gorge Impact Film Festival runs Nov. 8, 9 and 10. Over the weekend Columbia Arts and The Ruins will be the venues. Columbia Arts will present 4 blocks of films, three on Saturday Nov. 9th beginning at 11am.,snacks, wine, beer and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase. Additionally CCA will host a Stop Motion Animation Workshop sponsored by Arts and Education of the Gorge from 1 to 5 pm on Saturday in the gallery. The workshop is free and open to the public.

On Sunday Nov. 10th, CCA will host a new category for GIFF showcasing young filmmakers beginning at 10:30 a.m. Coffee, tea, and other beverages as well as baked goods will be available for purchase. Sunday afternoon CCA will be the host for a filmmaker luncheon and the awards ceremony immediately following the luncheon. The awards ceremony is open to the public.

Gorge Impact Film Festival is celebrating its second year in the gorge, the festival continues its mission to be dedicated to its vision of showcasing films that explore the universal question: Now What? How to Move Forward with Joy, Hope and Optimism on a Changed Planet?

Additional events include the Opening Night Reception and feature length film for invited guests and filmmakers on Friday Nov. 8th. The After Party with DJ Smiley at Double Mountain Brewing Company open to the public on Saturday evening from 9 to 11pm. Additionally the awards ceremony is scheduled for Sunday afternoon at 2pm at Columbia Arts.
