When the two are beautifully merged – doubling up on all the goodness – that’s when magic happens. \nThese 60 min\, sunny-day\, all-level classes will be a mindful blend of strengthening\, balancing and opening poses with just the right amount of relaxation. You’ll walk away feeling recharged and refreshed and a little more at peace. \nBring your own mat\, a folded blanket or a very big beach towel. Wear layers of comfortable\, stretchy attire. \nEveryone is welcomed. The focus is to enjoy the experience. Modifications will be provided for all levels. The yoga I practice and teach focuses on quality breathing because breath is life! SUMMARY:Aaron Meyer & Band with the Gorge Sinfonietta
DESCRIPTION:On Saturday\, June 10\, Aaron Meyer and his five-piece band return to Jackson Park\, pairing with the Gorge Sinfonietta for a free concert of classics and rock. \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n \nIn addition to being an internationally-recognized superstar\, electric rock violinist Aaron Meyer is one of the Gorge’s favorite musical artists. Meyer’s local performances are crowd-pleasing and diverse. \nAaron Meyer’s particular style is to take popular pieces of classical music and add the sound of electric solo violin and a driving rhythm section. He also does the opposite\, taking classic rock and fusing it with the orchestra and his virtuoso playing. \n  \nOn a typical program\, Mozart’s Marriage of Figaro will share the concert with Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody and Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah. For this concert\, Sinfonietta conductor Mark Steighner is arranging some new classic rock for Meyer and the orchestra\, including Toto’s Africa\, Sting’s Every Breath You Take and Kansas’ Carry On My Wayward Son. \nA student of the violin since the age of 5\, Meyer debuted with the Philadelphia Orchestra by age 11. He later soloed with the Oregon Symphony\, The Bangkok Symphony Orchestra in Thailand and other symphony orchestras. Meyer spends a great deal of time working with students and advocating for music education worldwide. \nAaron Meyer and the Gorge Sinfonietta will be on June 10 at 7 PM in Hood River’s Jackson Park. The concert is free. DESCRIPTION:For its first live performance since the pandemic shut down in-person events\, the Gorge Sinfonietta is teaming up with superstar rock violinist Aaron Meyer and his five piece band for a free concert in Hood River’s Jackson Park. The concert begins at 7 PM on Saturday\, July 17.“We’re all incredibly excited to return to live performing\,” said CGOA Artistic Director and Conductor Mark Steighner. “We’ve spent the past 18 months creating dozens of virtual performances\, but nothing can replace being on stage and in person.” \nThis will mark the third time Aaron Meyer has joined with the orchestra\, playing spectacular\, high-energy arrangements of classical themes\, rock standards and film music. From Led Zeppelin’s Kashmir to Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody\, from the theme from Lawrence of Arabia to brand new versions of Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons and Rossini’s Barber of Seville\, the hour long\, family-friendly show will have music to appeal to a wide range of audience members. “Aaron and his band are entertaining and incredibly talented musicians.” \nCGOA is presenting the concert for free in part as a “welcome back” to Gorge residents and also as a tribute to “hometown heroes.” Steighner said\, “Whether they are healthcare workers\, first responders\, teachers\, service persons\, or retail staff that have kept us supplied during the pandemic\, our community has no shortage of true heroes and this concert is our gift to them.” \n
